Cheese comes in so many different variations and tastes, and I don’t discriminate. In all its forms, cheese is the trendiest asset to a successful Instagram. Whether your spoon is picking up the gooiest mac and cheese ever created, warm cheese is covering your carbs, or any variation of the two, the likes are likely to pour in. The trend is real, and I’ve found the best New York City restaurants (my stomping grounds) to have perfected these cheesy masterpieces.
Raclette NYC – There is no more beautiful sight than warm cheese sliding onto a plate full of charcuterie. The trend, popularized by New York City restaurant Raclette NYC, has taken over my Instagram feed, and as a cheese lover, I can’t get enough. Like the caption says: I would just raclette it happen.
Cacio e Pepe – I’ve walked past the restaurant before, longingly looking at the small space, waiting for the day I can book a reservation there on Open Table. The restaurant’s signature dish, named after itself, looks like my dream dinner dish. Literally translating to cheese and pepper, the waiter/waitress will spin your noodles into a hot wheel of pecorino cheese sprinkled with pepper. Once I finally have the opportunity to eat this, I don’t think anything after that will come close to the taste I imagine.

The Smith – Personally, I believe The Smith hands down has the best mac and cheese on all of Manhattan, especially considering they have a bunch of locations so you’re never too far away from this fan-favorite appetizer. The gooeyness just doesn’t compare. The menu may say it’s a shareable dish, but you are not going to want to move your fork too far away or you may miss out. It is simply delicious.
The Stanton Social – If you love french onion soup, dumplings, and yourself, you have to get yourself to The Stanton Social ASAP. The most photographable item on the menu – but not the only tasty one – these french onion soup dumplings are a real crowd pleaser. You’re going to want a whole plate to yourself.
Beauty & Essex – The Stanton Social also owns Beauty & Essex just a couple blocks away, and the menu is just as amazing. These grilled cheese dumplings are incomparable. Imagine the best grilled cheese you’ve ever tasted. This is forty times more delicious; no ifs, ands, or buts.
